Austgrains is a niche supply chain manager of value added agricultural products to the food processing industry. Austgrains has three areas of operation;
- Future Foods Ingredients (FFI) joint venture. FFI has made an investment in an innovative soy bean flour plant at Austgrains’ site in Moree. This utilises technology developed by and licensed from Byron Australia. This world wide marketing and manufacturing license involves a full fat, bland flavoured whole bean soy flour. Maintaining all the benefits of the complete bean, without the bitter soy taste.
- Agricultural supply chains. Austgrains business plan is to build and manage value adding supply chains as a seamless conduit for new technologies in plant breeding, cropping and ingredient applications to supply specialised functional food ingredients. Austgrains is a supplier of biscuit making flour to Arnotts/Allied Mills, linseed to Scalzo and wheat to OBP Milling. Austgrains was the only private Australian company to be granted an export bulk wheat permit during the 2007 financial year.
- Industrial Development. The NSW State Government has chosen the Austgrains site in Moree as their preferred site for an intermodal multi user road/rail terminal, the “Moree-Link”. Austgrains has the opportunity to develop a 188Ha freehold site in the Riverina between Griffith and Leeton, on both road and rail.
Austgrains activities service both domestic and export markets. The company has relationships with all links in the supply chain including research and development.
